Cigar Reviewed: La Gloria Cubana Serie R Black Maduro

I actually bought this cigar on happenstance while at a gas station the other day waiting for my ol lady after my tire popped. I walked in and saw a box sitting in the humidor by the door and decided to buy one.

The dry pull tasted of creamy dark chocolate with a hint of clove. Tonight's cigar is paired with a vanilla porter from Breckenridge Brewery Fine Ales and Lagers. The light up produces an intense dark chocolate and coffee bean flavor. Swirling together with the creamy vanilla notes of the beer, it was almost like eating a chocolate chip cookie.

The burn stayed as crisp and sharp as a fresh razor pulled straight out of the package. I had a hard time rolling off the first ash because this girl was so well constructed. She burned slow, and long for about an hour and fifteen minutes. My usual smoke session is about 45.

Toward the end the flavors of dark chocolate just get more and more intense. This is a great cigar. And to think I probably wouldn't have tried it if my tire hadn't popped that day. It was almost like it was fate to get this cigar. Vivá La Gloria Cubana.
