A little bland

Cigar Reviewed: Rocky Patel The Edge Corojo

Smoked at: Minnesota

This is surprisingly tame for a corojo. The first 2/3 seemed almost completely devoid of the zest I expected. The corojo flavor was present, but very muted. My experience with the "Edge" line suggests that this may be the overriding theme behind the brand, as I've found the other varieties to be equally subdued. The first real dose of taste I got was an unpleasant blob of tar at about the 2/3 point that mandated a small recut. The flavor peaked in the last third, but the overall experience was more light woodsmoke with a touch of earth than any cream or spice. Burn was good, with lightly flaky ash. An okay cigar, but not one I'd eagerly return to.
