For many years, the Caribbean and Central America dominated the cigar industry. And, to this day, places like the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Nicaragua produce some of the finest tobacco in the world. However, more and more brands are incorporating South American tobacco into their premium cigars. Here, we’ll take a look at some of the top cigars on the market with South American Tobaccos.

**[Amazon Basin](https://www.caocigars.com/cigars/amazon-basin/)** is a legendary cigar with a cult-like following. It includes exotic Braganca tobacco harvested from the Amazon Rainforest, and the cigar delivers a bold, earthy, and fruity smoking experience. Amazon Basin also contains filler tobacco from Colombia, and it boasts an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper.

Ecuador is famous for its production of shade tobacco. Indeed, the country receives abundant natural cloud cover, making it a near-perfect place to grow this variety. As such, many excellent cigars sport an **[Ecuadorian Shade](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/tobacco/ecuadorian-connecticut-shade/)** wrapper, but few are as iconic as the Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne. Smooth, floral, and oaky, this cigar is a perfect introduction to Shade smokes — and a great everyday treat.

**Honorable Mentions****:** Macanudo Inspirado White, Oliva Serie V Melanio

## Colombia — CAO Colombia

Not many cigars contain Colombian tobacco, but it’s no surprise that one of the few that does is made by CAO. If you can’t tell already, CAO has a penchant for utilizing rare, exotic tobaccos in its products. And CAO Colombia is one of its finest offerings. Packed with unique Colombian filler tobacco, this salty and sweet cigar provides a rich smoking experience that fans of all kinds will enjoy.

## All of South America — Bolivar Aniversario

If you want to smoke a cigar with ONLY South American tobacco, then the new, limited-edition Bolivar Aniversario is probably your best bet. Not only does it have an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, along with tobacco from Brazil, Colombia, and Paraguay, but it also contains a super rare filler from Argentina. Add this exciting new cigar to your rotation while supplies last.

I've had only a few with SA tobacco but one I really liked was the Avo Ritmo, it had a earthy sweetness that was distinct in nature. I recommend if your looking for cigars with SA tobacco try the Ritmo.
