They fill pro shops across the globe, are present for birthdays, weddings, bachelor parties, the list goes on and on. This week, the Cigar World team brings you along for a deep dive into none other than Macanudo, America’s best selling premium cigar. ### **A little Macanudo history** Just like any brand, it all has to start with a product and a name. Interestingly enough, for Macanudo, their name was inspired by a cigar size made by the Cuban Punch cigar brand. However, it wasn’t until 1971, under the direction of cigar legend Ramón Cifuentes, that General Cigar launched the new Macanudo. It was ready. After years of testing and blending different tobaccos from across the globe, the group had a cigar line that was unparalleled to what other cigar makers were doing at that time. The blend contained Dominican and Mexican tobaccos. But the true star of the show was the wrapper. Connecticut grown and aged up to three years, this Connecticut Shade tobacco leaf provided subtle, sweet tasting notes that GCC believed would appeal to American smokers. Before they knew it, Macanudo Cafe was available and selling out in restaurants, golf courses, and shops across the country. Fast forward to today and Macanudo is still the best selling premium cigar in America. ### **Where are Macanudo cigars made?** All of Macanudo’s cigars are hand rolled and made at the General Cigar Factory in the Dominican Republic. ### **Are Macanudo cigars good?** Macanudo cigars are of incredible quality, they’re hand rolled from the best tobaccos, and they’re America’s best selling premium cigar. This is in most part to the phenomenal success of **[Macanudo Cafe](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/cafe/)**, a smooth, mellow cigar that presents an iconic combination of sweet and spice. ### **The Macanudo premium cigar lineup** Explore the full assortment of Macanudo’s award winning, premium cigars below. ### **Macanudo Cafe** **Wrapper:** Connecticut Shade **Binder:** Mexican San Andrean **Filler:** Mexican, Dominican Piloto Cubano **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/cafe/)** ### **Macanudo Estate Reserve Flint Knoll** **Wrapper:** Ecuadoran Connecticut **Binder:** Connecticut Broadleaf **Filler:** Brazilian Mata Fina, Dominican Olor, Nicaraguan Jalapa, Dominican Piloto Cubano **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/estate-reserve-flint-knoll/)** ### **Macanudo Gold Label** **Wrapper:** Connecticut Golden Shade (1st/2nd primings) **Binder:** Mexican San Andrean (1st/2nd primings) **Filler:** Mexican, Dominican Piloto Cubano **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/gold-label/)** ### **Macanudo Inspirado White** **Wrapper:** Ecuadoran Connecticut **Binder:** Indonesian **Filler:** Nicaraguan Esteli, Nicaraguan Jalapa, Mexican San Andrean **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/inspirado-white/)** ### **Macanudo Inspirado Red** **Wrapper**: Ecuadoran Habano **Binder:** Nicaraguan Jalapa **Filler:** Honduran Jamastran, Nicaraguan Esteli, Nicaraguan Ometepe **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/inspirado-red/)** ### **Macanudo Inspirado Orange** **Wrapper:** Honduran **Binder:** Honduran **Filler:** Dominican, Honduran, Nicaraguan **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/inspirado-orange/)** ### **Macanudo Inspirado Green** **Wrapper:** Brazilian Arapiraca **Binder:** Indonesian **Filler:** Colombian, Dominican **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/inspirado-green/)** ### **Macanudo Inspirado Palladium** **Wrapper:** Ecuadoran Connecticut Shade **Binder:** Mexican **Filler:** Brazilian, Dominican, Nicaraguan **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/inspirado-palladium/)** ### **Macanudo Inspirado Black** **Wrapper:** Connecticut Broadleaf **Binder:** Ecuadoran Sumatra **Filler:** Nicaraguan Esteli **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/inspirado-black/)** ### **Macanudo Maduro** **Wrapper:** Connecticut Broadleaf **Binder:** Connecticut **Filler:** Mexican, Dominican Piloto Cubano **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/maduro/)** ### **Macanudo Vintage 2010** **Wrapper:** Connecticut Shade Vintage 2010 **Binder:** Honduran **Filler:** Honduran, Nicaraguan, Dominican Piloto Cubano 1994 **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/vintage-2010/)** ### **The M by Macanudo flavor infused cigar lineup**  Discover the full assortment of Macanudo’s premium flavor infused cigars below. ### **Macanudo M Mint Cocoa** **Wrapper:** Indonesian **Binder:** Nicaraguan **Filler:** Nicaraguan **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/m-mint-cocoa/)** ### **Macanudo M French Vanilla** **Wrapper:** Indonesian **Binder:** Nicaraguan **Filler:** Nicaraguan **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/m-french-vanilla/)** ### **Macanudo M Dark Rum** **Wrapper:** Indonesian **Binder:** Nicaraguan **Filler:** Nicaraguan **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/m-dark-rum/)** ### **Macanudo M Espresso With Cream** **Wrapper:** Indonesian **Binder:** Philippine **Filler:** Nicaraguan **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/m-espresso-with-cream/)** ### **Macanudo M Bourbon** **Wrapper:** Ecuadoran Connecticut Shade **Binder:** Ecuadoran **Filler:** Dominican **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/m-bourbon/)** ### **Macanudo M Coffee** **Wrapper:** Indonesian **Binder:** Philippine **Filler:** Nicaraguan **[Learn More](https://www.cigarworld.com/cigars/macanudo/m-coffee/)** **What’s your favorite Macanudo cigar? I never had an Inspirado that I didn't enjoy, as far as "M" series my favorites are the original M and the Mint Cocoa sticks. Macanudo sure upped their game after a few tough yrs.
