Macanudo Inspirado Green Review

Smoked: Macanudo Inspirado Green

This is an overall enjoyable cigar to have when relaxing with a good glass of bourbon or whiskey. The first half of the cigar is lighter than the second and looks like two different wrappers and a thick cap. The cigar is nice and tight which gives it an overall even smoke throughout the whole cigar. I believe with aging this cigar a couple of months instead of smoking it fresh would bring out more of the flavors and bring a better overall experience.

The first third of the cigar I got a peppery and almost hints of a kind of chocolate taste. I can see this cigar getting better with age with storage in a proper humidor with correct and consistent levels.

The second third I was getting around the same taste but I thought I was picking up a hint of cinnamon as well. Overall it didn’t start to get to the cigars full potential until about halfway through. Then that is when the flavors really started to kick in. You get the same tastes as described above but with an earthy taste as well.

The last third of the cigar is a full blown medium/full flavor cigar that really kicks in the sweet and savory flavors described above. I can see people getting this cigar and instead of smoking right away, let it age for a couple of months to bring out the full flavors of the cigar. That is depending on if when the person got the cigar from the store or wherever it is new and not already aged. Overall this is a nice cigar that tastes good and burns evenly. I do believe that it brings out all the full flavors towards the halfway to last third of the cigar and if aged for a couple of months would be a lot better overall. Overall 4 Stars.

Nice review. I received one from Cigar Lab and smoked it a few nights ago. I think the robusto size was perfect for this type of cigar. It was flavorful and packed a punch and different notes unraveled quickly as I smoked it. I picked up black pepper, coffee and some chocolate. Your recommendation to age it a bit more is spot on. It was a good smoke. I enjoyed it.

Thanks for the comment. I thought it was a good some but could be better. I am betting it would get better with age. I appreciate the feedback.

This cigar was sent to me to review by The Testing Lab. Admittedly, I've had it twice before already. I was sent the robusto but on my own I've had both the Churchill and the Toro sizes. My first experience of the Churchill was not one to be praised. It was one of my least enjoyable smokes of the year. I often expect far more from Heritage Brands and blends. The second (Toro) not that much better. I had all but given up on the cigar. However, when sent the robusto, it was a different experience. Still not a great blend in my opinion, but it was a long lasting smoke with decent construction, just a bit mild for me. It just goes to show you, you shouldn't just give up on the cigar after having only tried it once. Those of us to take the time and effort to rate and review cigars know that it often takes two to three sticks to get the full nuances of the blend. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try sizes that you wouldn't normally smoke. Here's hoping that you have a better experience and enjoy this cigar.

Thanks for your feedback. I thought it was a good cigar but definitely could be better. Next time that I try this brand I am going to age it a couple of months to see if it brings more of the flavors I tasted out. Thanks for the feedback.

Your review was well described. Almost felt like I was smoking it just by reading. Going to go find at least two. Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. I am hoping it helps others in regards to whether or not they want to get one themselves. I do believe that it would bring more of the flavors I tasted if it was aged for awhile. Thanks again for feedback.

Thank you for your response. When going out to your cigar store ask how long they have had them in. It was a good cigar that I believe with some age would be even better. Hope you enjoy yours whenever you get yours and light up! Thanks again for your feedback.
