Glass bottle (Mexican) Coke’s and cigars, real good!

Ok ... not everyone goes straight to a soda when they think of a good pairing with their favorite smoke. My old man worked for Pepsi for many years when I was a kid. He extolled the virtue of “pure product”. He would explain why a soda in a glass bottle would always taste better than those that come in a tin can or plastic bottle. As he explained it, tin and plastic containers have a “food grade” polymer applied to the inside of the container ... which ends up altering the flavor of the product. Glass bottles, are simply heat (steam) sterilized and nothing but the original product is put in ... so you’re getting the recipe for the drink as it was originally intended. Then with the “Mexican” Coke (or Pepsi) they are sweetened with pure cane sugar, as originally intended, so you’re getting the best version of that drink you can currently get.

When you pair that with a good, smooth smoke? It finishes really nice ... especially if you lean towards the sweeter, smoother side of things.

    I enjoy mine with coffee ☕️ or Red Bull drinks 🥤 especially the Peach 🍑 flavored one.

    I will have to try. My local supermarket is always sold out of the Mexican Coke. They sell it by the single bottles of course so guess customers just stock up.

    I grew up with m parents being very big Pepsi fans, usually preferring glass bottles until the 2liter bottles got cheaper.

    I’ve rarely tried cigars with soda, thinking it would add too sweet a flavor, and therefore hide some flavors from the cigar. But I’ll eventually give it a go.

    I absolutely agree that a coke...or any soft drink, is always better in a glass bottle! I no longer consume sugar, but I do enjoy various drinks with a cigar...could be water, coffee, soda or alcohol. Enjoy!
