The
History:
This brand, which debuted in Havana in 1928, was made from a secret blend of pure Vuelta Abajo tobaccos developed by Marquez Rafael Gonzalez, Grandee of Spain and sold as La Flor de Marquez. Still sold in Cuba today under the name, La Flor De Rafael Gonzalez Marquez, the Rafael Gonzalez brand was re-introduced to the American market in 1998 with a richer tobacco blend manufacturerd in the Villazon factory in Honduras. Today, Rafael Gonzalez continues its fine Cuban heritage in a Honduran cigar that's well-rounded, much more flavorful and priced within the means of every cigar smoker. |

Rafael Gonzalez cigars are patiently blended with choice Honduran, Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos and a rich-tasting Connecticut broadleaf binder surrounded by a silky USA-Connecticut shade wrapper. The original Havana blend is known for being one of the most mild Cuban cigars, but this Honduran-made edition is more medium-bodied in flavor, yet retains the smoothness, excellent balance and inviting aroma for which Rafael Gonzalez is known. |
